Job Summary:
The Mold Tech will report to the Shift Supervisor any special instructions to ensure production is operating and quality standards are being maintained.
The Mold Tech will lead by example and will perform supervisory tasks such as designating Packer/Handlers and other team members to proper locations to meet production schedules. In performing these responsibilities, associates are to work safely, efficiently and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.
The Mold Tech works with the Shift Supervisor to operate, troubleshoot, document and communicate on all equipment that is not performing within specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production department.
* Oversee the starting and stopping of molding machines and related production equipment, ensuring they are operating within safety and process standards.
Have in-depth knowledge of the injection molding safety devices and processes.
* Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and the team leaders the supplies needed for each production run, including returning inventory of unused supplies.
* Assure that each production run has the appropriate computer labels for product identification and that out-dated production labels are destroyed.
* Be knowledgeable of inventory procedures, following product guidelines.
* Keep Shift Supervisor informed of any personnel issues relating to team effectiveness.
* Provide feedback to department associates concerning their safety and job-related responsibilities.
* Know and conduct quick start up and shut down emergency procedures. Attend monthly staff meetings and Mold Tech meetings.
* Be knowledgeable of all aspects of SPC on the machines, as well as the quality SPC charts.
* Always have the brass tools with you at all times.
Leadership/Technical Area:
* Review the production schedule pro-actively; ensuring machines are running production to customer specifications and by the approved firsts hot procedure.
* Set up machines, change materials and colors as required minimizing scrap and downtime.
* Respond to quality control personnel and SPC charting of control indications by adjusting machines and documenting.
* Properly use lock out/tag out procedures conducted by maintenance personnel.
* Understand all duties and responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor in case of absence, including attending supervisor meetings.
* Coordinate with quality control and maintenance personnel concerning machine operations and any malfunctions.
* Collect and inspect for accuracy operator reports that will b given to the Shift Supervisor.
* Inspect scrap and document all production numbers on the production board hourly.
* Assure all required paperwork is completely filled out on a daily basis; ie. daily process records, machine cleaning, etc.
* Daily work on CIP on an individual and technical level.
